On the south side, Adam noticed that a "crow's nest"could easily be added and so he sketched some additional plans for that. Chad was surprised how much more he knew about the boys' personalities (and vice versa :)), it really was a lot of hours to be together. Our boys are all getting older now and definitely have opinion of their own. Drew just turned 17, Adam is 14, Evan is turning 13 next month and Grant is 11. They were quite a team. Drew loves math, Adam loves creating, Evan loves to use his strength and Grant won the prize for perseverance - he was Chad's "right hand man" until the very end.

I will have to post another picture of the nice, rustic railing that they added last month. But here are a few pictures of the inside of the cabin. They put a lot of thought and heart into it, and had a BIG REVEAL for me at the end of July. It was really special.
This is a snapshot of the east and south wall. There's a loft, with our hanging swing on the east, and you can see the tin on the roof and as a decoration from my 40th party. That tin has a special story, my mom gave it to Chad. It was from the family farm that she was raised on, the same one that I called home until we moved when I was 15 years old.
Crow's Nest, high and great for reading
South side, with a special feature - the roof built around the branch
Cute baby birds are even welcome
Love him
Most patient building trades instructor EVER
The views are outstanding
South side, front door
Before the trap door was created, the ONLY way to get to the fort was by climbing the rock wall. They didn't make this door and the falling ladder until RIGHT before the big reveal - so seriously they climbed the rock wall for the ENTIRE construction.
Grant on the inside this time, same side, the south side.
One more view of the inside of the roof, with a great view of the rustic-branch middle beam.

Oh MY GOODNESS! That is one AMAZING fort! Seriously Awesome! I remember our fort was called an eye sore by the neighborhood builder until it blew over in a wind storm... no lie!:) You are going to have so much fun out there! I love it! What a HUGE accomplishment!
